Meet Jenna
Social Media Intern (2020)
Where are you from and where do you currently reside?

I was born and raised in the Pittsburgh, PA area. I grew up in McKeesport, PA, a small town about 20 minutes outside of the city and graduated from McKeesport Area High School in 2017. I currently reside in Slippery Rock, PA with my three roommates while I finish my degree. However, I enjoy going back home to visit family and friends while on breaks from school.

What college/university did you attend?

I currently attend Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in Slippery Rock, PA. I am studying Integrated Marketing Communication and specializing in New Media. I chose SRU because I really liked the IMC program here and felt at home on campus. I am also a first-generation college student, which is something I am very proud of.

How did you get your start in your career?

From a young age I enjoyed reading, writing, and being creative, so the Communications field piqued my interest. As I learned more about the field, I became more interested in the new media sector. I love the idea of being able to create and distribute content that can reach people near and far using social media. Upon my graduation in May, I hope to obtain a position in the marketing communications field working for a brand in the beauty or fashion industry.

Do you have any passions/interests outside of work?

When I am not in class, you can find me cheering on the sidelines at SRU football and basketball games or scrolling through various social media apps looking at my favorite brands and influencers content. I may have a slight obsession with TikTok at the moment. I also enjoy exploring the beautiful city I call home, cheering on my favorite football team…the Pittsburgh Steelers, spending time with my family and friends, and going to concerts.

What inspired you to help create TCC?

I am currently completing an internship as an Ambassador for the Sustainable Enterprise Accelerator in Slippery Rock, PA, which led to my involvement with Transforming Culture Consultants. Although I was not involved in the very beginning stages of creating TCC, the rest of the team has made me feel like I have been a part of it since day one. I love TCC’s mission and vision and I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with them.
